Lucchese Fisher hornback caiman boot in barrel brown and tan, side profile

Lucchese

Fisher, Barrel Brown + Tan

Handmade in El Paso, Texas

$995

Hornback caiman on a square toe. Riley wears a 9D.

The Fisher takes its name from Fort Fisher, a Texas Ranger camp that stood on the Brazos in the 1800s. The foot is hornback caiman — the ridged spine of the hide rather than the smooth belly, so the scale pattern is raised and no two pairs read the same. A tan shaft over the darker vamp keeps it from going formal, which is the point of a horseman boot: it should look right at a sale barn and at dinner.
