Riley's favourite piece of kit, full stop. Medium in conifer.
One jacket doing the work of several: weatherproof and insulated in the same shell, so it covers the cold glassing sit and the walk in without a second layer in the pack. The laminate breathes, and tricep vents plus a two-way front zip let you dump heat on the climb rather than stopping to strip off. That is the whole argument for it — fewer pieces of kit, each of which has to be good enough to carry the day on its own.
