Dillon Precision
Pistol Case Gauge, 9mm
$30
The last check before a round goes in a magazine. If it drops in and sits flush, it will chamber; if it doesn't, you found out at the bench instead of on the clock.
A machined stainless block cut to a minimum-spec chamber. You drop a finished round in: if it seats flush and falls back out under its own weight, it will feed in any gun of that caliber, and if it stands proud or sticks, something is wrong — the case is bulged, the crimp is off, the round is long. For anyone loading their own match ammo this is the difference between a malfunction found on the bench and one found in the middle of a stage. Stainless so it will not mar or wear the way an aluminium gauge does. It is a single-round gauge, not a hundred-round tray, so it checks a sample rather than a whole batch. Sold one caliber at a time: 9mm, 38 Super, 40 S&W and 45 ACP. Riley's is the 9mm; the photograph is Ben Stoeger's shot of the same gauge in 45 ACP, which is the one they use for the whole listing.
