Black vinyl electrical tape, the premium 7 mil rather than the thin stuff: three quarters of an inch by 50 feet a roll, three rolls, 150 feet all told. Abrasion-resistant backing, flame retardant, UL listed and CSA marked, rated on the label for use at no more than 600 volts and 80°C, and it still goes on down to −10°C, which is 14°F. It is not shooting equipment and does not pretend to be — it is the tape that holds a battery cover on, splints a stage prop, marks a magazine or a bin lid, and generally fixes whatever broke between now and the next stage.
