Xero C1 Pro Chronograph
$499
Know your power factor before the match tells you. A radar chronograph that fits in a back pocket and reads every shot.
Velocity is the number everything else is built on — power factor for a match, a drop table for distance, whether a handload does what you think it does. Practical matches score Major or Minor on bullet weight times velocity, and the chrono stage is a bad place to learn your load is light. This is the tool that answers it at your own bench. It is radar rather than the old optical sky-screens, so there is nothing to align downrange and no fighting with light: set it beside the muzzle and shoot. Reads 100 to 5,000 fps, so it covers a 9mm and an arrow alike. It pairs with Garmin's ShotView app to log strings and deviation on your phone, runs about 2,000 shots or six hours on a charge, and it is IPX7, so weather at a match is not its problem. Three inches by two and a bit, 3.72 ounces, with a 1/4-20 socket underneath that fits any standard tripod.
