Wera
Series 7400 Kraftform Torque Screwdriver, 10–26 in·lbs
$89.66
Riley's torque driver, for the screws that hold the dot on. Set the number, turn until it clicks, stop.
An optic-mount screw has a torque spec and a mounting plate has a thread that strips, and the space between them is about ten inch-pounds; a torque screwdriver is how you land in it every time. Wera's 7441 is the adjustable Series 7400: the range is 1.2 to 3.0 newton-metres, 10.6 to 26.6 inch-pounds, set on the scale in the handle without any special tool, and the driver clicks in the hand when it gets there and stops driving. A Rapidaptor quick-release chuck takes any quarter-inch hex bit one-handed, so the Torx bit for the optic and the hex for the grip screws both live with it. The Kraftform handle is the multi-component one Wera puts on everything, shaped to the hand. German made, limited lifetime warranty. The other ranges in the series run from 2.5 up to 55 inch-pounds; this is the one that covers a pistol.
