First Lite's year-round mountain pant in their standardised straight-leg 308 fit, true to size, in more waist and inseam options than anything else they make. The fabric is 100% polyester with four-way stretch built into the weave rather than added as spandex, which is why it is quiet, and a PFAS-free DWR on top. Five-pocket layout plus a zip security pocket on the left thigh, a zip carpenter's pocket on the back of the right leg for a phone, and a dedicated folder-holder knife pocket; mesh-backed thigh zips to dump heat, and a 16.5-inch straight leg opening that clears any boot. First Lite rates it 45 to 60 degrees on its own, and it goes lower with a base layer under it. 20.5 ounces in a 34. Riley's are the Black and the Walnut, both in 30/32; the Walnut pair is the one that goes west for antelope. Eight colours: Dark Moss, Dry Earth, Walnut, Black, Terra, Fusion, Cerca and Conifer.
